On June 14th, the Texas Nationalist Movement launched a campaign to collect enough petition signatures to place the question of Texas independence on the 2022 primary ballot. Next year, Texans could have the opportunity to go to the polls and cast their vote for the following statement:
“The State of Texas should reassert its status as an independent nation. FOR OR AGAINST”
During this 87th legislative session, I filed the Texas Independence Referendum Act that would have placed a similar question on the ballot, but it was never given a hearing by the State Affairs Committee. The voices of Texans were not heard on this subject, so now the people will work to place it there themselves, one valid signature at a time.
Between now and December 1st, the TNM is fielding hundreds of volunteer petition circulators to collect the signatures of over 76,854 Texans who want a chance to vote on TEXIT. Learn more here.
This petition requires pen and ink, so click below to find out where you can connect with one of the TNM’s Certified Petition Circulators to sign the petition.
Want to do more? They are looking for more volunteer manpower in order to accomplish this goal! Sign up to volunteer with the TNM as a circulator in your area below!
