Austin, TX (01/13/17) — Ear­li­er this week, Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Kyle Bie­der­mann was offi­cial­ly sworn into office in Austin on Tues­day, Jan­u­ary 10th, 2017. His capi­tol office was full of sup­port­ers cel­e­brat­ing as he took his oath to pre­serve, pro­tect, and defend the Con­sti­tu­tion of the Unit­ed States and Texas. Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Bie­der­mann was joined by fam­i­ly, friends, and con­stituents alike.

“I am excit­ed and incred­i­bly hon­ored to have been offi­cial­ly sworn into office! The cer­e­mo­ny was sur­re­al, and hav­ing the sup­port of House Dis­trict 73 on swear­ing-in day meant a great deal to me and my fam­i­ly. Now, the real work begins! It’s time to stand bold­ly for the very prin­ci­ples I’m here to pro­tect,” said Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Biedermann.

The cer­e­mo­ny start­ed with a prayer for wis­dom for the house mem­bers as they begin their 140 day jour­ney through the leg­isla­tive ses­sion. Fam­i­lies of the rep­re­sen­ta­tives were wel­come to sit on the house floor, and Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Biedermann’s wife, Bar­bi, was by his side as she watched her hus­band offi­cial­ly become House Dis­trict 73’s newest Rep­re­sen­ta­tive in the Texas House.

Fol­low­ing the swear­ing in cer­e­mo­ny, Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Bie­der­mann had the priv­i­lege of swear­ing in Travis D. Jones as judge advo­cate in the U.S. Navy Judge Advo­cate Gen­er­al (JAG) Corps. Jones received his degree in eco­nom­ics from Pep­per­dine Uni­ver­si­ty, and grad­u­at­ed Cum Laude from the Ded­man School of Law at South­ern Methodist Uni­ver­si­ty. Hav­ing attend­ed the Naval Jus­tice School, Jones has been com­mis­sioned as judge advo­cate and will serve at the Naval Air Sta­tion in Jack­sonville, Florida.
