Veterans Thanksgiving dinner final - Kyle Biedermann (1)

Fredericksburg, T.X. –September, 14 2017  – After a tradition began last year to honor our veterans and first responders, many in the community are coming together to host the 2nd Annual Veterans and First Responders Thanksgiving Dinner.

The Thanksgiving Dinner will take place in Fredericksburg on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the St. Mary’s Holy Family Center. Seating times will be 11:00am and 2:00pm. Seating is limited to the Veteran or First Responder and one guest.

I’m incredibly honored to co-host this great event for our local veterans and first responders,” said State Representative Kyle Biedermann. “In these times, it is especially important to thank our veterans and all of those who serve in uniform. As the son of a Retired Army Colonel and the father of two Navy Active Duty Sailors, I know many of our men and women in uniform have sacrificed and contributed to make our community and our country great. I’m proud to be a part of this dinner to say thank you to honor these heroes and their families, who have sacrificed so much.”

This event is completely free of charge and orchestrated by volunteers. The dinner will have two seatings and is expected to draw close to 600 veterans and first responders. Hundreds of local volunteers will be needed to make this an amazing event. If you’re a veteran or first responder and would like to attend, please RSVP to Bryan Benway at 830-998-3469 with your preferred seating time.

“God bless this awesome district for consistently delivering for veterans and First Responders. We are doing this for our veterans, our police officers, our firefighters, EMS, and others as a genuine way to just say ‘THANKS’.  This is an opportunity for all of us to step up to the plate and return the favor for those who have served,” said Representative Biedermann. “We need volunteers and donations now, and also want to ask folks to volunteer the day of and day before.”

Those interested are asked to either donate goods, their time or make a donation on behalf of the event, by contacting Bryan Benway at, calling 518-637-1428, or dropping off food and supplies at Biedermann’s Ace Hardware in Fredericksburg where a designated area is marked for all collection of food. Items needed are green beans, cranberry sauce, bags of stuffing mix, chicken broth, rolls and uncooked turkeys.

Direct donations are also being accepted. Checks should be made payable to “Wounded Warriors at Nebo,” earmarked for “The Thanksgiving Dinner” and mailed to: Biedermann Ace Hardware 1102 East Main Street, Fredericksburg, TX 78624.
