Rep. Biedermann Tours Ports of Entry With U.S Customs and Border Patrol

September 3, 2019

“While in Laredo, I toured various ports of entry, including the International Bridge Crossings, and the immigration facilities in Laredo. U.S Customs and Border Protection (CBP) does an amazing job inspecting cargo coming into the United States, as well as identifying individuals trying to access the U.S. illegally.

The numbers of individuals and asylum seekers coming into the United States on a daily basis continues to put a strain on our immigration facilities, and costs Texas and the U.S hundreds of millions of dollars in lost commerce due to the drug cartels and criminals trying to hide drugs in their shipments.

Laredo is one of the largest ports in the United States, which is a great benefit to the state of Texas. Thank you to the US Customs and Border Protection for their hard work!”- State Representative Kyle Biedermann
