Interim Work with TCEQ

July 24, 2020

My staff and I have been meeting with Texas Commission for Environmental Quality (TCEQ) staff over the interim on a multitude of issues.  Two issues have been of primary focus.  The Aggregate Production Operations (APO) issue is receiving a lot of attention via the APO interim charge committee.  We have had extensive discussions with a number of District 73 constituents to learn more of their perspectives and the new scientific data they are collecting.  These people have also been updating the committee on their insights and providing recommendations on changing existing state regulations. A second issue is the protection of the Texas Hill Country’s water quality and quantity using entire watershed management approaches and practices.  We are optimistic about such concerns as wastewater treatment plants discharging almost drinking water quality effluent to the land or to receiving waters.  Should you wish to find out more about these issues, please do not hesitate to contact my office.
